PICSI (Physiological Intracytoplasmic SpermInjection)
This technique allows to select competent sperm based on their ability to bind to hyaluronic acid, the main component of the cells which surround the egg. Only mature sperm are able to bind to this compound. These sperm are better quality and show higher integrity in their genetic material.
The use of this technique is recommended for couples with poor sperm quality or for those who have undergone ICSI cycles without achieving the desired results.
To further enhance the selection of the best sperm, this technique can be combined with IMSI, based on sperm morphology. This combination increases the chances of pregnancy and reduces the risk of misscarriages.
